President Akufo-Addo hyperbolized JB Danquah’s UG contribution President Nana Akufo-Addo’s recent comments about the contribution of one of Ghana’s towering figures, JB Danquah, to the founding of Ghana’s first University, the University of Ghana is clearly hyperbolized. whilst Dr Danquah’s role in the establishment of the university in 1948 was incontestable, it amounted to an hyperbolize to say he is the founder. President Nana Akufo-Addo stoked debates this week when at the launch of an endowment fund for the University of Ghana, he said it was not entirely farfetched to say his granduncle, the widely acclaimed doyen of Gold Coast politics, is the founder of the University. Codeine and tramadol abuse surfaces in Accra. The food and drug authority has revealed upon their investigation that wanton abuse of codeine cough syrup and pain killer tramadol capsule by the youth in Ghana. their investigations indicated a combination of tramadol and codeine in some parts of Accra. according to the food and drug authority, 35 over-the-counter drug shops found to be selling the prescription drugs in the Greater Accra Region have been referred to the head office to be sanctioned. A lot of Ghanaian and Nigerian youth have lately taken to abusing the drugs whose excessive consumption can cause organ failure and schizophrenia. Nigeria this week announced a ban on the production and import of the syrup. Ghana had been battling the abuse of tramadol among the youth. The Greater Accra Regional head of the food and drug authority said the exercise is to regulate the sale of both drugs in the capital city of Ghana.
